Apprenticeship Program Instructions

Applications for the 2025-26 School Year Are Now Closed

Thank you for your interest in The Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors apprentice program. Please see below for important application information.

Required Documents

  • A copy of the applicant’s Maryland State HVACR apprentice license. If you do not already have this you can apply for your license with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
  • A doctor’s letter showing that the applicant is physically able to do work in the HVACR industry. We do not require a physical and do not have a set form. You can have a doctor write a handwritten note on a RX pad or a formal note. Historically if an applicant does not have a relationship with a doctor they normally go and get a physical, since they do not have a relationship with a doctor and submit that documentation.
  • A copy of applicant’s high school diploma or transcript of last grade completed.
  • A copy of your Driver’s License.
  • Written recommendation letters from three (3) acquaintances. We prefer that only one of these is from a family member. You can ask a teacher, co-worker, coach, or supervisor.

Feel free to reach out to our office with any questions: sanderson@haccmd.org.
